What is an X.509 certificate in HTTPS?
An X.509 certificate typically binds an identity, a public key and an authority’s signature. The browser verifies the chain of trust up to an anchored root, then starts a TLS session. To go further: what is a digital certificate, chains of trust, and tracking expirations via the life cycle. Seal Soft can inventory certificates in Windows stores; network ACME renewal is not presented as available for Soft or Gateway.
What is the status of Seal Soft?
Seal Soft is the CertiShielder™ Windows application for sealing and authenticating documents (PAdES, CAdES, XAdES formats), with local certificate inventory and vault. The offer is pre-order. The software business logic is demonstrable; commercial packaging continues.
What is the role of Seal Web?
Seal Web is a web companion focused on verification (verify-only), in development. It complements Seal Soft: Soft seals on Windows; Web targets on-site verification.
What does Sovereign Trust Gateway aim for?
Sovereign Trust Gateway (STG) is a distinct B2B/B2G trust orchestration product. It is in progress; commercialisation is not open at this stage.
What is EviDNA™ in Seal Soft?
EviDNA™ is a procedural proof technology delivered in Seal Soft (ACGT genome, TrustSequence, manifesto). It complements document signature formats. It does not replace a qualified-level regulatory electronic signature.
How does Seal Soft relate to eIDAS qualified signature?
Seal Soft enables sealing with local or imported certificates. When the QES level (qualified electronic signature) is required, a certificate or service issued by a QTSP is necessary. See also the eIDAS regulation.
Can a signature be re-checked by a public validator?
Yes, when the format allows it. PAdES, CAdES and XAdES signatures or documents can be submitted to European Commission public validators, for example DSS Validation or the eIDAS / EFDA tests. This complements local checking in Soft. However, if the chain of trust relies on a local anchor absent from eIDAS qualified lists, the public result may remain indeterminate without the signature necessarily being invalid.
Where does ACME fit in CertiShielder documentation?
ACME (RFC 8555) is a reference protocol for TLS certificate automation, presented in the Knowledge Center. Seal Soft and Sovereign Trust Gateway do not present network ACME renewal today as an available capability.
